Welcome to the website of the Russian Cultural Center (RCC).

The RCC opened in Tel Aviv on October 10, 2007 , and is one of 85 foreign representations of the Federal Agency for the Commonwealth of Independent States, Compatriots Living Abroad and International Humanitarian Cooperation.

The main tasks of the RCC is to promote Russian culture and the arts, support the study and teaching of the Russian language, to relay prompt and objective information to the Israelis about the most important events of the external and internal policy of Russia, promoting the implementation of the joint Russian-Israeli programs in the humanitarian, cultural, scientific, technical and educational fields.

We are proud of the huge contribution of the Jews in World War I and the Russian culture, seeking to preserve and enhance it.
In this regard, we welcome the cooperation of creative teams who came from the USSR, the CIS, as well as all the musicians, singers, writers and artists and who started new careers in Israel.

The RCC team is doing its best to present an interesting program in a relaxed athmosphere to our valued visitors.

27th Intl Book Fair - Jerusalem 8 - 12 February 2015 - Russian National Stand 8 Feb 2015 - Official opening of the 27th Jerusalem International Book Fair, which takes place every two years and is one of the largest book fairs in the world and the most important literary event in the publishing world of Israel.

	RCC Tel Aviv, 4 Feb. 2015 full-house screening of the award winning feature film " Leviathan " a cinematic interpretation of the biblical character Job, presented in a modern Russian version by Director Andrei Zvyagintsev. The name is taken from the Book of Job: Leviathan - the mythological monster. While initially Leviathan - a biblical image, in the movie it is used as a metaphor for power.
Starring Alexei Serebryakov, Elena Liadov ,Roman Madyanov. The work was included in the main competition program of the 67th Cannes Film Festival and immediately after the show was highly appreciated by Russian and foreign film critic. Also awarded the prize for best screenplay. In January 2015 "Leviathan" became the first Russian film to be awarded the American prize "Golden Globe" in the category "Best Foreign Language Film", beating pictures from Poland, Sweden, Estonia and Israel. The film was among the nominees for the "Oscar" in the category "Best Foreign Language Film", as well as a BAFTA Award in the category "Best Film not in the English language" (ceremony will be held February 8, 2015). The Russian Film Academy awarded Andrei Zvyagintsev the "Golden Eagle" in the nomination "For the best director's work."

FREE RUSSIAN LANGUAGE COURSES
for children and youngsters aged 6 to 12 years from Russian-speaking families.

Classes are conducted by highly qualified teachers with many years of experience in teaching the Russian language in Israeli schools.
Groups are formed according to the results of the interview. Frequency of sessions: once a week for 3 lessons (the duration of the lesson: 45 min.) subject to change. Hours: 17:00-19:35 - effective September, 2014.
