Welcome to the website of the Russian Cultural Center (RCC).

The RCC opened in Tel Aviv on October 10, 2007 , and is one of 85 foreign representations of the Federal Agency for the Commonwealth of Independent States, Compatriots Living Abroad and International Humanitarian Cooperation.

The main tasks of the RCC is to promote Russian culture and the arts, support the study and teaching of the Russian language, to relay prompt and objective information to the Israelis about the most important events of the external and internal policy of Russia, promoting the implementation of the joint Russian-Israeli programs in the humanitarian, cultural, scientific, technical and educational fields.

We are proud of the huge contribution of the Jews in World War I and the Russian culture, seeking to preserve and enhance it.
In this regard, we welcome the cooperation of creative teams who came from the USSR, the CIS, as well as all the musicians, singers, writers and artists and who started new careers in Israel.

The RCC team is doing its best to present an interesting program in a relaxed athmosphere to our valued visitors.

30 - 31 May 2015 - Intl Jerusalem Festival

Concerts of Russian virtuosos were successfully held in Israel

As part of the International Jerusalem Festival and the project of the St. Petersburg House of Music "The Embassy of Excellence" on 30 May in Jerusalem, in the central concert hall of the «YMCA» and 31 May in the Russian Cultural Center in Tel Aviv, the classical recitals, music of young Russian virtuoso performers, winners of international music awards Vitali Vatulya (saxophone) and Philip Kopachevskii (piano) were a great success.

The Israeli festival is held in Jerusalem for many years, a gathering of leading musicians, dancers and theater artists from around the world. This year, for the first time young Russian musicians from the Russian program of masterpieces of world classical music participated in the Festival.

Saxophonist and pianist Vitaly Vatulya & Philip Kopachevskii gave a brilliant performance of works by Chopin, J. Brahms, Kalinkovichi, Ravel.
In the solo program Philip Kopachevskii performed "Seasons" by Tchaikovsky, devoting his speech to the 175th anniversary of the birth of the great Russian composer, which is widely celebrated this year throughout the world.

The annual project "Embassy of Excellence" ,was held in 2012 both in Russia and abroad by the St. Petersburg House of Music . The project includes outreach session of master classes of the leading Russian successful musicians and young soloists touring the Russian centers of science and culture abroad. The concert , as a part of the project, is conducted in cooperation with the Russian Federal Agency Rossotrudnichestvo.

In 2015, the project has significantly expanded its geography. In addition to countries where Rossotrudnichestvo traditionally sponsored performances of young soloists of the House of Music, now Israel, Palestine, Portugal, Hungary, Slovakia, China, Malaysia, Laos, Bangladesh, the US, Lithuania, Morocco, India, United Kingdom, Brazil and Argentina have been added .









RCC - 28 May 15 - the II Russian Language Olympiad ended in Israel

On 28 May ,the final round of the II Russian Language Olympiad, organized by the Israeli center for children's creativity with the support of Russian Federal Agency Rossotrudnichestvo in Israel,and the support of the "Russian world - Russkiy Mir Fund".

The Olympiad is held in order to preserve and popularize the Russian language in Israel, increasing the interest for Russian language studies amongst the younger generation of Russian-speaking Israelis.

In the first qualifying round of the Olympic Games, which took place in the south, north and center of Israel, including the Russian Cultural Center in Tel Aviv, more than 600 school children aged 7 to 18 years studying the Russian language in Israeli schools, Russian-speaking cultural and educational centers and night schools, as well as Russian language courses at the Russian Cultural Center, participated.

The final round of the Olympiad was attended by 197 winners of the first qualifying round from Jerusalem, Beersheba, Haifa, Herzliya, Netanya, Bat Yam, Tel Aviv and other cities.

The ceremony of awarding the winners of the Olympic Games medals, diplomas and prizes will take place on June 8 at the Russian Cultural Center.
The Grand Prix winner will receive a ticket to the Olympic Games at the International children's camp, a seminar on the study of the Russian language, Russian history and culture, which is held at Israel Support Center for children's creativity in its seventh year.

The top five finalists will attend the Olympics in July 2015 in Moscow,and will participate in cultural and educational projects, which are held at the All-Russian State Library of Foreign Literature named after M. Rudomino supported by the Russian Cultural Center in Tel Aviv.








RCC - 26 May 15 - Chekhov's characters appeared on the stage of the theater-studio "Silhouette" in the Russian Cultural Center in Tel Aviv
Within the framework of events dedicated to the Year of Literature in Russia and the 155th anniversary of the birth of Anton Chekhov, the premiere of the play "And then, and sho" was performed by the theater-studio "Silhouette" at RCC .The theatre staging of Chekhov's stories was set by director and actress Kate, studio Finkelstein.

Theatre studio "Silhouette", acting under the direction of director Edward Edlis-Martirosyan at the Russian Cultural Center for several years, brings together creative people of all ages and professions and professional actors.

The repertoire of the theater-studio - several successful performances staged on the works of Fyodor Dostoevsky, Bulgakov, Nikolai Gogol, Mikhail Zoshchenko and other Russian writers. All productions are distinguished by the original vision of the literary material.
The premiere of Chekhov's jubilee performances were sold out. The audience praised the new production of the talented theater group.







RCC - 25 May 2015 - Evening in honor of the 70th anniversary of the Great Victory and the 80th anniversary of the Roerich Pact
In celebration of the 70th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War and the 80th anniversary of the Roerich Pact the Russian Cultural Center in Tel Aviv hosted the historical and art evening "Culture and Peace. Wings of Victory ", organized by the the Nicholas Roerich Odessa House-Museum.

The evening began with the opening of the exhibition of reproductions of paintings by Nicholas Roerich and the literary exposition of his works dedicated to the Covenant and the Great Patriotic War.
The Director of the museum Elena Petrenko told about the history of the Roerich Pact - an agreement for the protection of the unique scientific and artistic institutions and historic monuments, adopted April 15, 1935, initiated and sponsored by the Russian painter, philosopher and public figure Nicholas Roerich. Also presented were new editions of the Odessa home-museum by the artist.

During the evening a presentation dedicated to the anniversaries of the magazine "Culture League", published under the auspices of the Nicholas Roerich Odessa House-Museum. The chief editor of the magazine, Israeli journalist Tatiana Slonim introduced the audience to the topic of the new issue and the articles by Russian, Ukrainian and Israeli scientists, artists and educators.

A documentary film "Time to collect stones" about the history of the Roerich Pact was also shown. The new edition of the House-Museum Nicholas Roerich was presented as a gift to the library of the Russian Cultural Center.

St. Petersburg Polytechnic University named after Peter the Great is pleased to announce the availability of scholarships for students of Israel with foreign and Russian citizenship!

RCC - 22 May 2015 - Chess Tournament "Victory grandfather - grandson of victory" dedicated to the 70th anniversary of the Victory

On May 22, the Russian Cultural Center in Tel Aviv held a chess tournament dedicated to the 70th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War.

The event was organized by the Russian Cultural Center in Tel Aviv, the southern branch of Russian-Israeli association of affinity groups (VORZ), with the support of the Israel Chess Federation and the city department of absorption of Beersheba. The chess tournament has been held for seven consecutive years. Previous events were held in the city of Beersheba, and this year - for the first time in Tel Aviv.

The goal of the tournament - the preservation of the historical memory of the Great Victory and the continuity between generations. 50 war veterans and more than 60 young players aged 6 to 14 years from Beersheba, Nazareth Illit, Beit Shemesh, Rishon Lezion, Rehovot, Ashkelon, Ashdod, Afula and other Israeli cities played at the chessboard met .

The opening event was attended by the head of the Rossotrudnichestvo in Israel Natalia Yakymchuk, MKs Konstantin Razvozov and Robert Ilatov, head of the city department of absorption of Beersheba Alice Zheludkova, chairman VORZ Michael Reif, head of the Israel Chess Federation Moshe Slav, a member of the presidium of the Union of Veterans World War II - the fighters against Nazism, chairman of the Department of the Union of Veterans of the Southern District Leonid Levitan, director of the southern branch of VORZ David Wasserman.

RCC - 21 May 2015 - Israeli film screening " manslaughter "

As part of the "Film School", acting at the Russian Cultural Center in Tel Aviv, on 21 May the Israeli television film directed by Tanya Kisilevskii "manslaughter", marked by a special diploma of the XVIII International Film Festival "Stalker" in Moscow (2012), was shown.

The psychological drama "manslaughter" - the directorial debut of Tanya Kisilevskii - is based on the scenario of the Israeli journalist, writer and playwright David Cohn . The film stars are Israeli actors Igor Schneiderman, Dana Kucherovskaya Paul Krawiecka, Alexander Komrakov Maxim Polak, Alexander Shtendler and others.

The presentation of paintings was made by the Head of the "Film School" at the Russian Cultural Center, director and producer Tanya Kisilevskii, who told about the history of the film, its main idea and the film crew and answered questions from the audience.





II International Conference "Volunteering - Technology social change"
An annual multi-component platform, aimed at building an effective dialogue on the agenda of the United Nations, development of joint solutions, development of cooperation and partnership. The Conference will be held from June 30 to July 3, 2015 in Geneva (Switzerland).

The Forum is a long-term international project on the effective development of volunteerism in the world, initiated and organized by the Russian NGOs.

RCC - 18 May 2015 - Film of three generations of family-Bazhov Gaidarov

In the Year of Russian literature on May 18 the documentary film "a long time" about the literati A. Bazhov was shown, prepared by the Yigor Gaidar Foundation in cooperation with the "Medusa Film" company(director - Dmitri Joseph) .

Preceding the screening of the film, executive director of "Yigor Gaidar" Builova Irina (Moscow) spoke about the history of the film and its main character - Pavlovna Bazhova Ariadne, a man with a unique biography, the daughter of the famous Russian writer Pavel Bazhov, the wife of an officer and war correspondent Timur Gaidar, and the mother of Russian economist -reformist Yigor Gaidar.

Through the private life of the heroine, full of amazing events and people and spanning several generations,the history of the country appears in the film .

The film used unique photo and video chronicles from the family archive Bazhov-Gaidar. Modern filming took place in Moscow, Moscow region, Yekaterinburg - the House Museum of PP Bazhov, as well as in Cuba.

In the cinema hall an exhibition of rare photographs from the family archive Bazhov-Gaidar was deployed, as well as the exposition of illustrations of young artist Olga Martynova to tales written by PP Bazhov which were presented at the children's drawing competition "Book I", organized by the Russian Cultural Center in Tel Aviv .





RCC - 18 May 2015 - Second International Poetry Festival "Road to the Temple" (2015 - 2016.)
"What road, if it does not lead to the temple?"

OBJECTIVES OF THE FESTIVAL: association of poets writing in Russian, in line with the general idea of ​​the Temple and the road to it, meaning all possible interpretations: the temple in the human soul to the third Temple in Jerusalem; poetic reflection of the personal path of awareness, "who am I", "why am I", "where I go"; consolidation of scattered world of poets based on spiritual kinship and common cultural values.
The festival is supported by: - The Union of Writers of Israel; - Russian Cultural Center in Tel Aviv; - Literary magazine "22"; - Magazine "Literary Jerusalem"; - "Jerusalem Journal".

WHO CAN PARTICIPATE IN THE COMPETITION?
Poets living in any country of the world and writing in Russian.

After the online contest,an OPEN FESTIVAL will be held in Israel in March 2016, in which the winners will participate. Guests/winners from abroad cover their own expenses. Winners and prize-winners of the festival will be awarded prizes, diplomas and gifts.

In March,as part of the festival an open literary workshop will be held; it will conduct members of the jury; may participate in the optional - finalists (who will be in the short list) and the winners of the contest. Ma'alot 15 May 2015 - Lake Monfort - Israel


International Karate Tournament in honor of the 70th anniversary of the Victory.

In honor of the 70th anniversary of Victory in Great Patriotic War , the city of Ma'alot on Lake Montfort, held the International tournament ,Open Cup Matsushima Kyokushin Karate.

The Cup is carried out for 8 years, since 2007, at the initiative of compatriots led by Alexei Gershevich,well- known coach in karate. The aim of the tournament is the development of humanitarian ties between Russia and Israel in the field of culture, sport and youth cooperation.

The solemn opening ceremony was attended by the Consul General of Russia in Haifa Sentebov Alex, head of the Russian Federal Angency Rossotrudnichestvo in Israel Natalia Yakimchuk, vice mayor of Ma'alot Yuri Kucher. Honorary guests of the tournament were the veterans of the Great Patriotic War.

At the competition were children and youth sports teams compatriots from Russia, Germany and Israel. The tournament was held in an atmosphere of friendship, fair play, trust and mutual understanding.









RCC 14 & 28 May 2015 - Russian Language Olympiad


The first round of the Russian Language Olympiad among students was held in the Russian Cultural Center in Tel Aviv on 14 May 2015 - the final round will be held on 28 May 2015


The Russian Cultural Center in Tel Aviv hosted the first round of the annual Russian Language Olympiad among students. The organizers of the Olympics - the Israeli Center for support of children's creativity, the Russian Federal Agency Rossotrudnichestvo Representation in Israel in support of the "Russian world - Russkyi Mir".

The Olympics aroused great interest among students, their teachers and parents, indicating their desire to keep the Russian language among the younger generation of Russian-speaking Israelis.

The first round of the Olympic Games has already taken place in the south and the north of Israel - in Be'er Sheva, Jerusalem, Haifa, Nesher. The Russian Cultural Center competition works were written by young Israelis in Tel Aviv, Netanya, Bat Yam, Holon, and other cities in central countries. "The Cranes Are Flying"
One of the best war films !


In the Year of the 70th anniversary of Victory in Great Patriotic War on May 13,the RCC video classes "of the heroes of yore" at the Russian Cultural Center in Tel Aviv will screen the feature film "The Cranes Are Flying" (USSR, 1957), which entered into the golden fund of Soviet and world cinematography.

The film-drama "The Cranes Are Flying" has had a huge impact not only on the Soviet, but also on the world cinema.

The competition is held in order to develop and support the creative potential of Russian Language teachers, increase students' interest in learning the Russian language and literature, solving educational problems based on the spiritual values ​​of the great Russian literature, as well as the creation of the Russian Cultural Center Foundation teaching materials to help teachers of the Russian language as a foreign language.

In the Year of Russian literature, the Mission of the Russian Federal Agency Rossotrudnichestvo in Israel and the Russian Cultural Center in Tel Aviv invite Russian language teachers to participate in the All-Israeli competition for the best educational and methodical development of "Literature of the Russian language in the classroom" .

Entries are accepted until 10 July 2015
The date of announcement of winners and awarding of the winners (1st, 2nd, 3rd places) prizes, as well as the presentation of the best works will be announced before September 1, 2015

From March 1 to May 31, the International Human Rights Movement "A world without Nazism" in cooperation with the Foundation for drawing up projections of childhood "Social forecasting," the League of Young Journalists, the National Council of Youth and Children's Associations of Russia holds international children's contest "We want to live in the world" .

The participants of the contest "We want to live in the world" may be children of 11-16 years.
The contest materials accepted are: photos, photo collages, photo pictures, drawings and other visual works, as well as essays, poems, essays and other writings sent before May 15, 2015 inclusive.   Applications for participation in the Competition are made electronically at registration   www.russianforpeace.ru.

FREE RUSSIAN LANGUAGE COURSES
for children and youngsters aged 6 to 12 years from Russian-speaking families.


Classes are conducted by highly qualified teachers with many years of experience in teaching the Russian language in Israeli schools.
Groups are formed according to the results of the interview. Frequency of sessions: once a week for 3 lessons (the duration of the lesson: 45 min.) subject to change. Hours: 17:00-19:35 - effective September, 2015.
