New Council to promote Russian culture abroad

Moscow, 02 April 2012
A new national promotion has been launched by the Russian Federation's Council of Culture abroad. The Council is headed by the Head of the FA Rossotrudnichestvo, Konstantin Kosachev.

"The Mission adopted for the Council abroad is an objective presentation of modern Russia. It should ensure and improve access to the traditions of the multinational Russian culture and its achievements, promote a positive image of Russia in the global community through a system of cultural values and benchmarks, said K. Kosachev.
The Head of Rossotrudnichestvo noted that the new body has been set up to ensure effective interaction with interested government bodies, creative associations, cultural institutions in planning, organizing and conducting cultural activities abroad.

K. Kosachev stressed that the objectives of the new organisation are a unique infrastructure of Russian Centers of Science and Culture, currently in 74 countries around the world, and by 2020, the centers will function in 100 countries.

Welcome to the website of the Russian Cultural Center (RCC). The RCC, opened in Tel Aviv, October 10, 2007, and is one of 73 foreign missions of the Federal Agency for the Commonwealth of Independent States, Compatriots Living Abroad and International Humanitarian Cooperation.

The main tasks of the RCC is to promote Russian culture and art, and support learning and teaching of the Russian language, providing prompt and objective information to the Israeli Public about the major events,the foreign policy of Russia as well as the promotion of joint Russian-Israeli programs in the humanitarian, cultural, scientific, technological and educational fields .

We are proud of the huge contribution of the Jews in the world to Russian culture, seeking to preserve and augment it. In this regard, we invite you to co-operate with the creative teams in Israel who came from the Soviet Union and the CIS, together with all the musicians, artists, writers and artists.

The RCC team is doing everything possible so that our valued visitors, the Israelis can feel comfortable and enjoy the programs.

12 August 2012 In connection with the 200-th anniversary of the victory in the Patriotic War of 1812 the Representation of the Russian Federal Agency Rossotrudnichestvo in Israel and the Russian Cultural Center in Tel Aviv, with Israeli support from the Children's Creativity Center announces a National competition of child's picture themed "a great day for freedom".

The competition is held in 3 's age categories:
from 7 to 9 years old, from 10 to 13 years, from 14 to 16 years.

8 August - Russian Seminar at the Intl Children's camp Ben Shemen
" Peter the Great in Ben Shemen" - As part of the Russian History year,the RCC Tel Aviv staff conducted an on-site lesson of Russian language and literature during a seminar for gifted children from Israel and Russia.
The Russian language, history and culture seminar, organized by the Israel Children's Creativity Support Center (headed by - Elion Vilenchik, Art Director Irene Deitch) with the assistance of the "Russkiy Mir (Russian World)", was held in the youth village Ben Shemen near Jerusalem. "Taking away sight and hearing ... - So what is left? Duh!

An unusual exhibition entitled "Living Clay", uniting miniature sculptures, reliefs, ceramics amateur sculptor Rafael Aviv (Rishon Lezion) opened at the RCC.
The Head of the FA Rossotrudnichestvo Representation in Israel, Alexander Kryukov described the dramatic story of a young man who was born in 1984 in Minsk (Belarus), and at the age of 2 years has been exposed to the consequences of the Chernobyl disaster.
In Israel, Rafael and his family arrived in 1996. He lost after 20 years his hearing, and after 24 years - sight, he began modeling in clay as rehabilitation after a major operation. Soon this occupation has become for him a way of expression. Kryukov said his selfless mother and other family members of R. Aviv, spared no effort to help implement his creative vision.
Through his work R. Aviv opens people their inner world - the world of images and memories, thoughts and feelings shared his vision and understanding of absolute harmony, the dream of universal love and compassion, of peace on our planet.    read more >>>
9 August International photo exhibition "The World through the eyes of women" opened at RCC
The beginning of a new creative season in the Russian Cultural Center in Tel Aviv was marked by the grand opening in honor of the Russian celebration of the Day of Family, Love and Fidelity by the International photo exhibition "The world through women's eyes", organized by the FA Rossotrudnichestvo Representation in Israel together with the photo club "Tsafon" (Haifa) with the assistance of the City Absorption Department.

Opening the exhibition, the Head of the FA Rossotrudnichestvo in Israel, Alexander Kryukov said the photo club "Tsafon" has existed for more than 15 years, with a membership of about fifty photographers, amateurs and professionals, and their shows are regularly exhibited in Israel and abroad. Kryukov noted the high professionalism of the authors and broad geographic exhibition, featuring the work of photographers from Russia (Moscow, Saratov, Penza, Myski), Belarus (Vitebsk, Gomel), England (Nottingham), USA (New York), as well as from Israel (Haifa, Nahariya, Afula, Atlit, Ashkelon, Petach Tikva and Herzliya).

30 August - "And remember Moscow ..." - Gennady Shpalikov
On the eve of " Moscow Day "- September 1,the RCC (Tel Aviv) organized an evening dedicated to the celebration of the Russian capital, which this year celebrates its 865 th birthday with the slogan "The best city in the world" .
The main content of the evening was the presentation of the new Israeli Association "Moscow", organized by the initiative committee, led by Olga Gelfand (Rishon Lezion) who is President of the Association. Many former Muscovites took part, now with families from all over Israel - from Ashkelon, Ashdod, Petah Tikva, Tel Aviv, Bat Yam, Holon, Rehovot, Kiryat Gat, Haifa, Jerusalem and other cities, as well as guests from Moscow.
The evening was attended by the President of the Israel Support Fund , Yuri Voldman, Head of an organization of former law enforcement officers of the USSR-CIS "Shield and Sword" ,Gregory Berenzon, filmmaker Piotr Mostovich, World War II veteran, Ilya Shenderov Moscow, as well as representatives of the scientific and artistic communities .
The Head of FA Rossotrudnichestvo Representation in Israel,Alexander Kryukov welcomed the creation of the association, noting that the Israelis - former Muscovites amongst whom are many famous scientists and artists who contributed to the development of cultural ties between Russia and Israel.    read more >>>
