11 January 2012 - Haifa veterans celebrate the 70th anniversary
of the Nazi defeat near Moscow




January 11, Haifa . The Veterans Union of disabled soldiers and partisans from the war against the Nazis held a memorial meeting on the 70th anniversary of the defeat of Nazi troops near Moscow for which the leaders and activists from the Union's city branches of the northern districts had gathered in Haifa.

The meeting was opened by the chairman of the District Committee of the Union Smorodov Isaac, who outlined the course of military operations in the fall and winter of 1941-1942 near Moscow and gave an overview of the relationship between the number of weapons and opposing groups of Wehrmacht and Red Army.

Consul General of Russia in Haifa, Igor Popov stressed the heroism of the sons and daughters of the Jewish people, who united and moved all the peoples of the Soviet Union who fought in the Great Patriotic War, including in the grand battle for Moscow.

Russian military attache, Colonel Pavel Subbotin expressed gratitude and best wishes to the veterans on behalf of the Ministry of Defense .

The Head of the FA Rossotrudnichestvo Representation in Israel, Alexander Kryukov, in his speech gave little-known facts about the new research by military historians, testifying that it was after the defeat at Moscow, that the German generals for the first time reported to Hitler their doubts about the possibility of victory on the Eastern Front.

Kryukov also presented copies of the Rossotrudnichestvo Soviet-American documentary film "The Unknown War." to representatives of associations of veterans and disabled veterans

The President of the Veterans Union of disabled soldiers and partisans from the war against the Nazis, Brigadier General, retired Roman Moss thanked the Russians for the attention and support for the disabled soldiers and war veterans who are living in Israel.

Afterwards the participants shared their memories of the dramatic events 70 years ago.
The meeting ended with unanimous execution of memorable songs wartime.

Хайфа: ветераны Великой Отечественной отметили 70-летие разгрома фашистов под Москвой


11 января в Хайфе состоялась мемориальная встреча, посвящённая 70-летию разгрома немецко-фашистских войск под Москвой. В Клубе Союза воинов и партизан – инвалидов войны с нацистами собрались руководители и активисты городских отделений северного округа Союза.

Встречу открыл председатель окружного комитета Союза Исаак Сморода, который кратко изложил ход боевых действий осенью и зимой 1941-1942 годов под Москвой и привёл данные о соотношении численности и вооружений противостоящих группировок вермахта и Красной Армии. Генконсул России в Хайфе Игорь Попов особо отметил героизм сынов и дочерей еврейского народа, которые в едином строю всех народов СССР сражались на фронтах Великой Отечественной войны, в том числе в ходе грандиозной битвы за Москву. Военный атташе России полковник Павел Субботин от имени Министерства обороны РФ передал ветеранам слова благодарности и самые добрые пожелания. Руководитель представительства Россотрудничества в Израиле Александр Крюков в своём выступлении привёл малоизвестные факты из новых исследований военных историков, свидетельствующие о том, что именно после поражения под Москвой немецкие генералы впервые доложили Гитлеру о своих сомнениях относительно возможности одержать победу на Восточном фронте. А. Крюков также вручил представителям союзов ветеранов и инвалидов войны полученные из Россотрудничества экземпляры советско-американского документального фильма «Неизвестная война». Президент Союза воинов и партизан – инвалидов войны с нацистами бригадный генерал в отставке Роман Ягель поблагодарил россиян за внимание и поддержку, которые оказываются живущим в Израиле инвалидам и ветеранам войны.

Затем своими воспоминаниями поделились участники тех драматических событий 70-летней давности. Встреча завершилась дружным исполнением незабываемых песен военной поры.
