27 Jan. 2012 - In Israel, the 68th anniversary of the lifting of the siege of Leningrad
was remembered with a ceremony at the war memorial in Ashdod




Remembering the 68th anniversary of the siege of Leningrad in Israel, on January 27, the day of the 68th anniversary of the complete lifting of Nazi siege of Leningrad members of the Russian Cultural Center in Tel Aviv in Israel, visited the only monument to the victims of the 900-day siege of the city on the Neva. The monument was created in 2004 in Ashdod.

In his welcoming speech, the Head of FA Rossotrudnichestvo Representation in Israel,Alexander Kryukov said that the blockade of Leningrad is written into history as one of the most tragic and at the same time, the most heroic pages of the Great Patriotic War.
Kryukov expressed his deep gratitude to the blockadniks of Leningrad, a feat which has become a model of courage, unparalleled strength and fortitude, and wished them health and strength.
Deputy Mayor of Ashdod, Vladimir Gershov thanked the blockaders for their heroic stance, and also expressed his best wishes.

The participation of members of the Red Army Re-enacting Society (Ashdod), led by Nathan Greenberg, created a special atmosphere. Uniformed World War II Soviet soldiers and officers, young Israelis stood honor guard at the monument during the ceremony.

The rally was also attended by members of the City Council of Ashdod, the chairmen of the local branch of the Veterans Union, War Invalids and blockaders,and the Head of the Union “Shield and Sword”, Berenzon George (Progress and Sharon), a representative from St. Petersburg. as well as the chairman of the District Committee of the Veterans Union of disabled soldiers and partisans from the war against the Nazis, Ephraim Paperny.

At the end of the ceremony Kaddish was read in memory of the victims.
The Delegation of the RCC laid a funeral wreath at the monument to the victims of the 900-day siege of Leningrad.




В Израиле отметили 68-ю годовщину снятия блокады Ленинграда



27 января в день 68-й годовщины полного снятия немецко-фашистской блокады Ленинграда сотрудники Российского культурного центра в Тель-Авиве посетили единственный в Израиле памятник жертвам 900-дневной осады города на Неве. Монумент был создан в 2004 году в Ашдоде.

В приветственном выступлении руководитель Представительства Россотрудничества Александр Крюков подчеркнул, что блокада Ленинграда вписана в мировую историю как одна из наиболее трагических и, в то же время, самых героических страниц Великой Отечественной войны. А. Крюков выразил глубокую благодарность ленинградцам-блокадникам, подвиг которых стал образцом мужества, невиданной стойкости и силы духа, и пожелал им здоровья и сил.

Заместитель мэра Ашдода Владимир Гершов от имени руководства города поблагодарил блокадников за их подвиг и также высказал самые тёплые пожелания. Особую атмосферу мероприятию создавало участие членов Клуба военно-исторической реконструкции РККА (Ашдод) под руководством Натана Гринберга. Одетые в форму советских солдат и офицеров периода Великой Отечественной войны, молодые израильтяне стояли в почётном карауле у памятника на протяжении всей церемонии.

В митинге также приняли участие депутаты городского совета Ашдода, председатели местных отделений союзов ветеранов, инвалидов войны и блокадников, руководитель Союза «Щит и меч» Георгий Берензон (Ход а-Шарон) и представитель Санкт-Петербурга. Вёл церемонию председатель окружного комитета Союза воинов и партизан – инвалидов войны с нацистами Эфраим Паперный. В завершение церемонии был прочитан Кадиш в память о погибших.

Делегация РКЦ возложила к памятнику жертвам 900-дневной блокады Ленинграда траурный венок.
