Presentation of the works of NS Leskov was held in Hebrew at the Russian Cultural Center in Tel Aviv

On April 13, 2016 in celebration of the 185th anniversary of the birth of classical Russian literature, Nikolai Leskov, the Russian Cultural Center hosted a presentation of the collection of his works translated into Hebrew.

This is another edition in a joint project of the Israeli publishing house "Carmel" and the Russian Translation Institute. Earlier, the Russian Cultural Center successfully held a presentation of works by LN Tolstoy in Hebrew.

 The presentation and discussion of a collection of works of NS Leskov translated into Hebrew was attended by the Director of the publishing house "Carmel" Yisrael Carmel, translation author and compiler of the collection Dina Markon, scientific editor and author of the foreword, professor at Haifa University Vladimir Papernyi, chairman of the Union of Russian Writers of Israel, writer and translator Yuri Moore-Muradov. The collection includes the most famous works of NS Leskov's "Lady Macbeth of the Mtsensk District", "The Enchanted Wanderer", "left-hander", short stories and essays "The Jew in Russia. Some remarks on the Jewish question. "

Translation of the works into Hebrew, in the words of L. Tolstoy, the Russian writer himself was praised and called the positive response of the Israeli literary scholars, university professors, translators and readers.
