The Academic Symphony Orchestra of the St. Petersburg Philharmonic will give a concert in Israel in honor of Russia Day
As part of an annual series of concerts dedicated to "Russia Day" in Israel, more than a hundred musicians of the Academic Symphony Orchestra of the St. Petersburg Philharmonic under the direction of conductor Alexander Dmitriev come to Israel for the first time. The artistic director of the St. Petersburg Philharmonic is Yuri Temirkanov.
The only concert of the orchestra will be held at the Center for the Performing Arts in Tel Aviv, in the hall of the Israeli Opera, Sunday, June 12 at 21:30 in honor of Russia Day.
The program consists of the best works of the great Russian composers: Overture to the opera "Ruslan and Ludmilla" by Glinka , 9th Symphony and Shostakovich's Symphony No. 2 by Rachmaninov.
