 | Ceremony in honor of the 71st anniversary of the Great Victory in the Red Army Forest near Jerusalem

The ceremony dedicated to the 71st anniversary of the Great Victory, was held in the Red Army Forest near Jerusalem.
The
Memorial Forest of the Red Army, located in the mountains near Jerusalem close to the village of Abu Ghosh, was planted in 1950 in gratitude by the Israelis towards the Soviet Army, who saved the world from Nazism.
At the same time there was a stele with an inscription "This forest is planted by Israeli citizens for the Soviet Army." For many years the Russian Cultural Center have been holding their traditional memorial ceremony in the Forest of the Red Army in honor of Victory Day.
This year, the representatives of the Russian Embassy's wreath-laying ceremony at the monument was attended by Israelis, the Russian Cultural Center,the Embassy of Belarus in Israel, veterans' organizations and associations of compatriots.
After the ceremony at the Russian Cultural Center in Tel Aviv, a concert of military songs was given for the veterans of the Great Patriotic War, prepared by the young artists of Theatre "Wonderland," the song, children's vocal ensemble "Ashdod Flowers" and "Flowers of Israel."
This year's memorial ceremony coincided with the rally, organized by the NGO "Association of friendship between the peoples." Aggressive protesters tried to disrupt the ceremony, but it did not interfere with the holiday.
The tradition of holding a memorial ceremony in honor of Victory Day in the woods of the Red Army will continue.
