2 May 2014 - Red Army Forest - near Abu Gosh/Jerusalem Mountains - V Day Celebration
A festive Memorial rally dedicated to the 69th anniversary of the great victory, including a wreathes placing ceremony took place at the Soviet soldiers monument.

Opening the meeting, the Head of the Rossotrudnichestvo Mission in Israel, Natalie Yakimchuk congratulated Israel on victory day on behalf of the Federal Agency Rossotrudnichestvo Representation in Israel.

N. Yakimchuk described the history of the forest, which was established and opened in 1950, as a sign of deep gratitude to the soldiers and commanders of the Soviet army, who freed the world from fascism.

The inscription on the memorial stone reads: "this forest was planted by Israeli citizens in honour of the Soviet army".

The memorial ceremony was attended by the counsellor of the Embassy of Russia, Alexander Kryukov, deputy military attache of the Russian Federation Alexander Milovidov, counsellor, of the Embassy of Belarus Aleh Bujkevich, first Secretary of the Embassy of Uzbekistan Timur Jalilov and military attache of Kazakhstan Bolat Duskinov.

The celebration was also attended by representatives of public organizations of citizens, the leaders of the National Union of Russian communities, the President of the Alumni Association of Soviet and Russian higher educational Sameer Khatib, leaders of veterans unions, veterans and invalids of the war, the club of the military-historical reenactment of the RED ARMY and other youth organizations.

The winners and laureates of the Israeli contest of talented children "Kaleidoscope" Timothy and Alika Sannikovy, Ilan Gorlicki, Galya Kishinev also took part in the concert during the ceremony .

The Veterans were warmly greeted by young artists, performing poems and songs about the war.
